Working in Monroe County
I have worked with the Bloomington Economic Development Corporation to bring new jobs to our community and revitalize brownfield properties. We are continuing to provide exceptional benefits to county employees, while focusing on the financial health of county government..
Living in Monroe County
We have expanded transit routes and maintained supplemental public transit in the face of changing funding structures. I work across agencies and sectors to help plan for pedestrian and cycling connectivity via new trails and paths. I am working to bring humane and coordinated approaches to working with our unhoused residents. I will continue to fight for affordable attainable housing for our county.
Playing in Monroe County
The expanded Convention Center will bring needed revitalization to our south-downtown area. Protecting our natural resources, including a new nature preserve and funding watershed management, will allow us to continue attracting sustainable tourism dollars.
Kate has served on the Monroe County Council since 2019, was Council President from 2021-2023, and continues to lead on issues important to Monroe County residents.
Kate approaches her work through her values, and that means that regardless of the issue at hand, she prioritizes transparency, collaboration, and a deliberative approach to decision-making.
